October 22, 2017 | Men's Golf
VERO BEACH, Fla. – Mississippi State men's golf will close out its fall season with the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational, beginning Monday at Quail Valley Golf Club in Vero Beach, Fla.
"This is an important week for our program, not only because it's our next opportunity, but also because it's our last event of the fall," head coach Dusty Smith said.
"You want to be able carry your momentum from the fall season into the offseason because the offseason is a very critical time in the development of the players. I'm excited to watch us compete this week and play our brand of golf."
Peng Pichaikool, Taylor Grant, Garrett Johnson, Austin Rose and Taylor Bibbs fill out Smith's lineup. Pichaikool, Grant and Johnson have each played in all four tournaments this season, while Bibbs will play in his first.
MSU will play 36 holes on Monday, beginning with a 7:00 a.m. CT tee off, before finishing the tournament on Tuesday with 18 holes.
The field includes Cincinnati, Jacksonville, Louisiana Tech, ULM, Louisville, Maryland, Memphis, Michigan State, Middle Tennessee State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, South Florida, Southern Miss and hosts McNeese State.
Quail Valley Golf Club plays to a par-72 at 7,350 yards. Live scoring is available through Results.Golfstat.com.
The Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational is MSU's third tournament in as many weeks. On Wednesday, the Bulldogs finished fourth at the Autotrader Collegiate Classic.
