MSU Women’s Tennis Set To Open ITA Southern Regionals

STARKVILLE, Miss. – After a two-week break, the Mississippi State women's tennis team hits the road for Auburn, Ala., this weekend for the ITA Southern Regional Championships starting Friday, Oct. 20.
Play begins Friday morning at 8 a.m. CT with the first round of doubles followed by the first and second rounds of singles. Players from 16 ITA Southern Region teams will be competing in the event.
Freshman Magda Adaloglou currently leads the team with a 5-2 singles record, riding a two-match win streak into the weekend. With her own three-match win streak, sophomore Sara Lizariturry has a 4-3 singles record this fall.
Juniors Caroline Kelly and Anastasia Rentouli combine for a 7-4 singles record, while Kelly has a spotless 3-0 doubles record. Senior Khrystyna Vozniak and junior Janina Braun round out the list of Bulldogs competing this weekend.
Singles finalists and the doubles champion of the ITA Southern Regionals advance to the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships in Indian Wells, Calif., Nov. 1-5.
