
Soccer Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Aaron Gordon's squad earned a GPA of 3.42 in the classroom for the 2014-15 athletic year, earning Mississippi State a spot on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award list.
In total, 859 soccer teams (305 men, 554 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby qualifying for the NSCAA College Team Academic Award. MSU was one of 12 Southeastern Conference clubs to earn the distinction.
The honor marks the first time since 2012 that MSU has earned the NSCAA award, with the previous coming in 2003.

Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Mo., the NSCAA is a non-profit organization with a mission to educate coaches, encourage excellence and serve the soccer community. The NSCAA is the world's largest soccer coaches' organization with members at every level of the game, from professional to grassroots.
This past semester the Bulldogs turned in a 3.26 in the classroom, which tied for first among women's sports at MSU. McKenzie Adams, Elva Astthorsdottir, Courtney Robicheaux and Mallory Eubanks all scored perfect 4.0's for the fall to earn President's Scholar Honors. The Maroon and White had six Dean's Scholars also (students who record between a 3.79 and 3.50 GPA) in Payton Gruenewald, Jen Huckaby, Sarah Hulett, Morgan Mills, Peyton Shaffer and Katelyn Watson.
