Miss. Pole Vault Champion Inks With State Track

STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Jon Mark Yarbrough, a pole vaulter from Brandon, has signed with the Missisippi State men's track team.
Yarbrough is a two-time state 5A champion in the pole vault for Brandon High School. He won the 2003 title with a top clearance of 14-6, his personal best. His win helped the Bulldogs to take home the 5A team crown this past year.
"He's a kid that can help us during the outdoor season," Schmidt said. "It's good to get kids from in state that you feel can help your team."
A captain on the football team, Yarbrough was a part of the team that made it to the second round of the 5A playoffs in 2002.
Yarbrough graduated from BHS with honors. He received the ACT Award this past year. He was also a member of the Brandon FFA.
Jon Mark Yarbrough is the son of Don and Lori Yarbrough.
