Former Lady Dogs Amelie Detriviere, Linda Mattsson, Claudia Oliveira and Anca Vasiloaica were named to the 2002 honor roll along with current standout Carole Soubis. The five selections tied State with LSU and South Carolina for the fifth-most selections.
The honor roll selections are based on the 2000-01 academic calendar. To be eligible for the SEC Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must (1) have a 3.0 grade-point average for the past year or her career, (2) be a sophomore or higher in academic classification, and (3) have 24 semester hours toward a degree.
Detriviere, Mattsson and Vasiloaica were each awarded with their fourth selection to the squad.
Detriviere earned the accolade after posting a 3.89 GPA in marketing and general business. Mattsson garnered her fourth selection with a 3.91 mark in international business. Vasiloaica rounded out the fourth-year selections with a 3.62 GPA in general business administration.
Oliveira gained her third selection to the conference's honor roll after compiling a 3.48 average in general business administration. Soubis, State's lone senior this season, garnered her second selection to the honor roll after wrapping up her undergraduate degree with a 3.72 mark in marketing.
"This is a great honor for these five girls," head coach Tracy Lane said. "They have taken great pride in their academic work as well as what they have achieved on the court. They have meant a great deal to this program's success, not just athletically, but academically as well."
State has now placed at least five student-athletes on the women's tennis honor roll the past four season. The Lady Dogs have had at least two selections each year since 1984.
