STARKVILLE, Miss. – Ending with a 3.59 grade point average overall, the Mississippi State women's tennis team continued dominating in the classroom, capturing the MSU women's and overall GPA crowns for the fall 2016 semester.
"I am extremely proud of our girls' performance in the classroom this fall," head coach Daryl Greenan said. "They are consistently among the highest academic achievers of the athletes and once again they have set the bar. Their pride and commitment both on the court and in the classroom will continue to pay off."
Leading the team in the classroom were sophomore Anastasia Rentouli and junior Madison Harrison, both posting perfect 4.0 GPAs for the fall semester. The perfect finish to the semester earned the pair Top Dawg and President's Scholar honors. For Rentouli this is the third-consecutive semester with a perfect 4.0.
Earning Dean's Scholar honors were freshmen Sara Lizariturry and Lisa Marie Rioux, sophomore Caroline Kelly and senior Jasmine Lee after posting GPAs of 3.50 or higher.
As a team, every player was able to obtain a GPA of 3.00 or higher, earning Bulldog Honor Roll distinctions.
