Thirty-One MSU Student-Athletes Graduate; Bulldogs Post Over 3.0 Semester GPA

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State student-athletes posted one of the best semesters on record in the classroom, combining for a 3.01 GPA, while 31 Bulldogs officially received their academic degrees at fall commencement.

Some of the overall academic highlights this semester include:

The all-sport scholarship GPA of 3.01 tied for the third-highest GPA on record in the department.
A total of 102 student-athletes made the Dean's Scholar or President's Scholar lists.
A total of 205 student-athletes out of 366 earned a spot on the Bulldog Honor Roll with a fall 2016 semester GPA of 3.0 or higher.
A total of 39 Bulldogs produced a 4.0 GPA this semester to earn "Top Dawg" honors.

Daryl Greenan's women's tennis team posted the highest team GPA in the department with a 3.6. Every MSU women's squad recorded over a 3.0 as the overall female scholarship GPA was a stellar 3.3. The soccer program notched its highest fall GPA ever with a 3.44.

For the second straight semester, Matt Roberts' men's team owned the highest male sport GPA with a 3.38. Dan Mullen's football team, which plays in the St. Petersburg Bowl on Dec. 26, tied its second-highest fall GPA and led the way with 17 fall graduates.

The men's golf team, coached by Clay Homan, tallied over a 3.0 GPA for the sixth straight semester.
