
State Shines In Classroom Again In Spring

STARKVILLE – It's been a successful spring for Mississippi State athletics, and that success extends far beyond what's happened in competition. For the 18th-straight semester, Bulldog student-athletes have combined to post a GPA over 3.0, finishing with a departmental GPA of 3.34.
Men's golf (3.65), women's golf (3.82) and volleyball (3.82) led the charge in the classroom this spring with each of those programs setting spring semester program records. Women's golf and volleyball tied for the highest team GPA in the department. Nearly half of State's athletic programs had a team GPA of at least 3.5 with men's golf, men's tennis, women's golf, soccer, women's track and volleyball all exceeding the 3.5 mark.
Other highlights of MSU's spring academic success include the following:

Other highlights of MSU's spring academic success include the following:
- On the men's side along with golf and tennis, the baseball, football and track programs all had GPAs of at least 3.1.
- On the women's side, softball and tennis joined golf, soccer, track and volleyball with GPAs of 3.2 or higher.
- Individually, 46 student-athletes had 4.0 GPAs to receive Top Dawg honors.
- A total of 249 Bulldogs had 3.0 or higher GPAs to earn spots on the Bulldog Honor Roll.
