MSU Wraps Fall With Trek To Dallas
November 06, 2016 | Women's Golf
STARKVILLE, Miss – Fresh off a fourth-place finish in Texas two weeks ago, the Mississippi State women's golf team looks to build on the success in the Lone Star state at the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas.
The Bulldogs open play Mon., Nov. 7, with two rounds at the Trinity Forest Golf Club. The two-day event concludes with 18 holes the following day.
MSU joins Texas A&M as the only two SEC teams in the event. The rest of the field includes Baylor, Houston, Kansas, K-State, Memphis, Michigan, Ohio State, SMU, Texas Tech, Tulsa, UNLV and UTSA.
Ginger Brown-Lemm hopes for another stellar performance from her team after it put together three solid rounds to take fourth at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational in San Antonio.
Seniors Ji Eun Baik and Jessica Peng will once again look to lead the young squad after turning in Top-10 finishes last time out.
Baik's performance at the Maryb S. Kauth led her to a third-place finish with a 209 total score.
Peng used a second-round 69, combined with a opening-round 70 and final-round 71, tied for sixth with a 210 total, one shot behind her teammate.
Freshman Teri Doss also hopes to continue growing on the course after having the best tournament of her young career, a 219 to tie for 26th, in San Antonio.
Sophomore Katie Holt and freshman Athena Yang round out the Bulldog lineup competing in Dallas this week. Holt tied for 48th at the Maryb S. Kauth, while Yang finished in 64th position.
MSU tees off Monday at 8 a.m.
