Bulldogs Head To Texas To Wrap Fall Slate

STARKVILLLE, Miss. — Mississippi State heads to San Antonio to wrap the fall portion of its women's golf slate, competing in the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational starting Sunday.
The Bulldogs will play 54 holes over three rounds at the par-72, 6,450-yard Briggs Ranch Golf Club. After Sunday's opening 18 holes, MSU will play 18 holes each Monday and Tuesday.
The team will take the same contingent from last week's Greenville Preview, with freshman Teri Doss returning to the lineup and sophomore Kendall Wisenbaker playing as an individual.
MSU will be one of six SEC teams in the field, joining Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. Houston, Kansas State, Old Dominion, SMU, TCU, Texas State, Tulane, and host UT San Antonio round out the field.
"Learning to move past challenging courses and less than stellar performances are a part of the process of growth," said Bulldogs head coach Ginger Brown-Lemm. "We are growing and learning weekly. The event at Briggs Ranch is exciting. It is a great course and good weather is predicted. Time to move on and thrive."

Senior Jessica Peng looks to build on her strong finish in North Carolina where she shot an even-par 72 in the final round to tie for 14th.
Fellow senior Ji Eun Baik also looks for a solid conclusion to the fall slate.
Sophomore Katie Holt will also be looking to continue the momentum from the Greenville Regional Preview where she posted a career-low finish of 36th behind a 235 tally.
Doss and fellow rookie Athena Yang have shown tremendous growth through their first collegiate tournaments, and they will be vying for strong finishes to take into the break.
Mississippi State tees off its opening round at 11 a.m. Sunday.
