GREENVILLE, N.C. – Senior Jessica Peng put together a strong final round Tuesday as the Mississippi State women's golf team wrapped the Greenville Regional Preview in 12th place.
MSU wrapped the second round, which was delayed by darkness on Monday, with a 316, but roared back over the final 18 holes to shoot its best round of the week, a 312, to finish with a 943.
TCU took home the crown with an 895 total.
Peng shot an even-par 72 for her final round. The senior notched a pair of birdies to go with nine pars. She finished the tournament tied for 14th, her first Top-15 finish of the year.
"Today, I just told myself to be patient with every hole," Peng said. "Taking it hole by hole helped me make minimum mistakes. I am proud of the way I played and happy for the finish we had."
Freshman Athena Yang also ended the event on a strong note, carding a final-round 77 to finish tied for 53rd with a 239. with a third round total of 77.
After a phenomenal first day of play, Katie Holt wrapped a career-low finish as she tied for 36th with a 235 tally.
Ji Eun Baik and Kendall Wisenbaker carded a 79 and 89, respectively, in Tuesday's final round.
Teri Doss tied for 47th overall, the fourth-lowest individual score, with a 238.
MSU wraps the fall slate Oct. 23-25 at the Maryb S Kauth Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
