MSU’s Jasmine Lee Set To Open Play At Oracle ITA Masters Thursday

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State women's tennis standout Jasmine Lee will begin competition in the Oracle ITA Masters Thursday in Malibu, Calif. The tournament, which features the nation's elite players in singles and doubles, is being held at Pepperdine University and Malibu Racquet Club.
A 2016 ITA All-American and currently ranked eighth nationally, Lee begins action on Thursday as the event's No. 6 seed and will face Austin Peay's Lidia Yanes Garcia at 12:15 p.m. CT.
Lee will also be competing in mixed doubles with Texas A&M standout Arthur Rinderknech. The SEC tandem is the No. 1 seed in the mixed field and will take on Sitilia Rencheli and Kei Ezaka of Quinnipiac at 8 a.m. (CT) in the openig round.
Lee enters the weekend with a 3-2 singles record this season, with both setbacks coming in tough three-set affairs last week at the Riviera ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Lee advanced to the quarterfinals of main doubles draw with freshman Lisa Marie Rioux.

Other members of State's squad will be in action this weekend at the ITA Southern Region Indoor Championships, which begin Friday in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
