MSU Women?s Tennis Goes Undefeated Day Two At Wolfpack Invitational

RALEIGH, N.C. - With the second day of the Wolfpack Invitational in the books, Mississippi State women's tennis went 4-0 in the doubles session against Virginia Tech and 7-0 in the singles sessionversus host team N.C. State. MSU is now a combined 7-3 in doubles play and 10-2 in singles play.
“Our girls did an excellent job today,” Greenan said. “I am proud of the way they competed. They raised their level and beat some quality opponents. It should be a nice confidence booster going into our final day of the tournament.”
The MSU tandem of Jasmine Lee and Madison Harrison continued where they left off yesterday, defeating VT's Raluca Mita and Kelly Williford, 6-3. Bulldogs Georgiana Patrasc and Anastasia Rentouli ousted the Hokies' team of Elena Cerezo-Codina and Caroline Daxhelet, 6-3. The MSU duo of Jennifer Brown and Kristina Vozniak won against VT's Katherine Butler and Sansitha Nandakumar, 7-5. State's Louise Ronaldson and Caroline Kelly defeated Tech's Sloan Barton and Emily Pence, 7-5.
In the noon singles session, freshman Rentouli improved her singles record to 2-0 afterdefeating NCSU's Martina Frantova, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. Senior Lee ousted Wolfpack's Joanna Nalborska in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. Patrasc was able to beat NCSU's Claudia Wiktorin, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0. Harrison defeated Wolfpack's Bianca Moldovan 6-1, 6-2. Brown was able to win against NCSU's Tayla Stenta 6-2, 6-2, while transfer sophomore Vozniak also found victory in straight sets, defeating NCSU's Amanda Rebol 6-0, 6-2. Freshman Kelly ousted Wolfpack's senior Taylor Zaytoun in a pair of tiebreakers, 7-6(4), 7-6(4).
State will be back in action taking on Georgia State in singles for the final day of the Wolfpack Invitational at 8 a.m. CT, Sunday.
