March 07, 2015 | Women's Golf
Hilton Head, S.C. – Coming off a challenging first round on Friday, the Mississippi State Women's golf team battled some of the nation's top teams to end day two in fourth place.
Having trouble with the greens on Friday, MSU pulled it together and fired a stellar 291.
“The girls proved today that they have the ability to dig deep and finish strong,” MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said, “I am impressed with what they can achieve, and hopefully it will carry over into Sunday's final round.”

Jumping a staggering 26 places was sophomore Jessica Peng, who was named to the ANNIKA Award watch list. For the second day in a row, Peng led the team in holes birdied with three. She fired an impressive 71 to finish tied for ninth place.
Tied with Peng is senior All-America and also a current member of the ANNIKA Award watch list, Ally McDonald. Shooting par on the front nine holes, McDonald ended they day two-over-par, and tied for ninth overall.
Also improving her score in Saturday's second round was Ji Eun Baik. The sophomore shaved two strokes off of her first round score to card a 74 and completed the day tied for 34th.
