
Grant Finishes Top 30 In First Career Start At Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate

Mobile, Ala. – Starting in his first career tournament, redshirt freshman Taylor Grant finished in a tie for 26th, while as a team Mississippi State placed ninth.
Grant, the Abilene, Texas, native, birdied five holes on the back nine to card a three-over-par 75 to finish the tournament at 8-over-par.
Along with Grant, fellow freshman Johnny Newnham finished in a tie for 26th after shooting a final round 75.
Sophomore Jackson Dick jumped 24 spots to finish the tournament in a tie for 36th after firing a 69 to end at 10-over-par on the week.
Australian native Tim Walker shot a 74, improving on Monday's second round by two shots. Walker finished in a tie for 46th after posting a 11-over-par.
Ben Wood jumped 13 spots after posting a final round 72 to finish in a tie for 47th at 13-over-par.
Competing in the individual tournament, Taylor Bibbs shot a final round 75 to finish in 5th. T.J. Morgan carded a 75 to tie for 16th, while Ben Follett-Smith placed in a tie for 19th after turning a round of 81.
Nationally ranked Auburn beat host South Alabama by eight shots to win the team title. Auburn's Matt Gilchrest and Texas State's Tyler Saunders tied at five-under par to win the Individual tournament.
The Maroon & White return to the course on March 2 at the Louisiana Classics held in Lafayette, La.
