MSU?s Lee Falls In Quarterfinals At USTA/ITA National Indoors
November 14, 2015 | Women's Tennis
In the round of 16, MSU's 23rd-ranked Lee downed Oklahoma State's 92nd-ranked Katarina Adamovic in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 Friday morning at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. In the quarterfinals, Lee could not overcome Clemson's 11th-ranked Joana Eidukonyte, falling in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 in the afternoon.
Lee, a first-team All-SEC selection last spring as a newcomer to MSU, composed an impressive fall record of 12-4, with nine wins against ranked opponents, eight top 70 wins to her credit, five in the top 40, and two in the top 10. She also qualified for all three majors of the collegiate tennis season held during the fall slate.
“Jasmine played a great first match, but just didn't have enough left in the tank to get past her second opponent of the day,” MSU head coach Daryl Greenan said. “She created plenty of opportunities, but couldn't capitalize on enough of them to get the win. She had a great tournament though and it was a solid finish to an outstanding fall season. She and our whole team should be proud of their results and confident looking forward to the spring season.”
