STARKVILLE, Miss. – With only a few weeks remaining in the fall slate, the Mississippi State women's tennis team travels to Auburn, Alabama, for the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships this Friday, Oct. 16, through Monday, Oct. 19.
“We are excited to compete against teams from the Southern Region,” head coach Daryl Greenan said. “It will also be our first opportunity this year to see some other SEC teams. I am confident we will have some great battles and pick up some big wins.”
This weekend's tournament will feature Southern Regional opponents from the states of Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana, including SEC foes Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Ole Miss.
At the forefront for MSU are 83rd-ranked senior Georgiana Patrasc with a 4-2 record, and 23rd-ranked junior Jasmine Lee, who was recently crowned the consolation champion at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships.
Sophomore Madison Harrison and freshman Anastasia Rentouli, who are both 6-0 in singles, look to continue their undefeated run this fall.
Also representing the Bulldogs this weekend will be sophomores Jennifer Brown, Louise Ronaldson, Kristina Vozniak and freshman Caroline Kelly.
Play will begin Friday with a round of doubles at 8 a.m. CT followed by two rounds of singles.
