
Bulldogs Win Relay On Day One Of Commodore Invitational

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Competing in four events on day one of the Commodore Invitational, the Mississippi State track and field teams brought home one win to start the meet.
The women's 4x800-meter relay, composed of Ocian Archer, Shayla Luckett, Emma Neigel and Rhianwedd Price, earned first place Friday night with a time of 9:00.22.
“The women ran hard tonight and deserved the win,” MSU coach Steve Dudley said. “We still have a lot of work to do tomorrow and I hope we can capture more wins.”
In the field events, freshman Logan Boss and senior Abigail Dill tied for third place in the high jump with a leap of 5-05.25. On the men's side, Seth Peace finished second (6-08.75) with teammate Chance Stephens following in fourth (6-04.75).
Also in the field, Haley Reynolds finished in the Top 10 in the weight throw. She earned eighth with a throw of 50-60.25 with Sasha-Gaye Marston finishing behind her in 13th (44-03.50)
The Bulldogs resume action tomorrow at 11 a.m. with the women's shot put, which both Reynolds and Marston will be competing in.
