
Peng?s Solid Round Moves MSU To Third After Mason Rudolph Second Round

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Another solid round from Jessica Peng helped move the Mississippi State women's golf team up one place on the leaderboard following second-round play at the Mason Rudolph Championship.
After a stellar performance Friday at the Legends Club, Peng fired a 1-under 71 to move into third, one stroke behind leaders Madelene Sastrom of Vanderbilt and LSU's Jenny Hahn.
Rica Tse and Ji Eun Baik joined Peng in the Top 25 as the Bulldogs fired a second-straight 292 to sit at 8-over 584. Host Vanderbilt leads with a 5-under 571.
“We left some shots out there today. We have not played our best, but we have managed well, though. We look so forward to tomorrow to have a great closing round, “ coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said.
The senior Tse shaved three strokes off her opening round, shooting an even-par 72 to tie for 20th at 3-over 147 for the tournament. Baik joined her teammate in 20th, following an opening-round 74 with a 73 Saturday.
Logan Chaney carded a 77 to sit in a tie for 36th at 6-over 150. Ally McDonald ended her second round in a tie for 41st at 7-over 151 after firing a 76 Saturday.
McDonald begins MSU's final round at 9:10 a.m. Sunday.
