Ramey Once Again On The Cusp Of Victory At Grand National

Ramey, who came from behind last season to win at Grand National, shot a 5-under-par 139 on Monday to finish tied for third place. Niclas Carlsson (9-under-par 135) of Auburn will take the lead into Tuesday's final round.
Sitting in fourth place after a 10-over-par 586 day, the Bulldogs are only one stroke behind third-place Memphis going into Tuesday's final round.
"I thought we played hard today, on what was a fairly difficult golf course,” Bulldog head coach Clay Homan said. “We needed to play par threes well and we did that. Unfortunately, we lost too many shots on the easy par fives. We just need to come out tomorrow and do a better job of scoring. When you have easy par fives, you have to take advantage of them.”
In his first appearance of the spring, sophomore Ben Wood (1-over-par 145) finished the opening two rounds tied for 12th overall. Wood is tied for the most Top-25 cards on the team this season, despite only playing in five events.
Seniors Barrett Edens (6-over-par 150) and Joe Sakulpolphaisan (9-over-par 153) finished the day tied for 29th and 47th respectively. Edens is making his first start of the spring, while Sakulpolphaisan is seeking his fifth Top 25 finish of the season.
Freshman Jackson Dick (14-over-par 158) rounded out the Maroon and White scoring from Grand National, finishing Monday tied for 59th overall.
In his third event of the season, freshman Ben Follett-Smith (8-over-par 152) tied for 39th overall while competing as an individual.
The Bulldogs will tee off at 8:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday, alongside Troy and Auburn (B) to wrap up the Tiger Invitational.
