Bulldogs' Top 10 Streak Snapped At BancorpSouth Intercollegiate
April 03, 2012 | Men's Golf
The Bulldogs turned in a 291 during Monday's first round and were halfway through round two when inclement weather struck the area. When play resumed Tuesday, sophomore Chad Ramey led State with a 69.
Ramey's 3-under-par card earned him a share of sixth-place, his first Top 10 card of the spring and second of the season. The Fulton-native has seven Top 25's this year, which ties senior Alex Rowland for tops on the team.
Rowland notched back-to-back 72's to tie for twentieth, while Barrett Edens earned his first Top 25 in only the second tournament of his junior campaign with a two-round, 1-over-par 145.
Juniors Mike Genovese and Robi Calvesbert turned in a 152 and 157, respectively.
Wichita State claimed the tourney title behind a solid 10-under-par 566 performance. Jonathan Fly of Memphis garnered individual honors with a pair of 68's in Madison.
The Bulldogs return to action on April 9 at the Memphis Intercollegiate hosted at the Colonial Country Club in Cordova, Tenn., for one last tune up before the SEC Championship on April 20.
