Farquharson Turns In Top 10 FInish In Pentathlon

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – As action wrapped on day one of the SEC Championships, Mississippi State found itself off to a good start.
Sophomore Racquel Farquharson was the lone Lady Bulldog in action as she competed in the pentathlon, bringing home a Top 10 finish at days end.
Farquharson started her day with the 60m hurdles, where she set a personal record with a time of 8.59. She then went on to set personal records in the shot put (31-6 ½), high jump (5-4 ½), and the 800m run (2:29.82). Farquharson posted a long jump of 16-8 ¾, which brought her total points for the day to 3,567 to garner a ninth-place finish.
“I could not be happier with Racquel's performance,” MSU coach Steve Dudley said. “She improved 500 points from last year and set personal records in four of her five events. If everyone on the team can follow her lead of improvement, we should be set for a good SEC Championship meet.”
The Lady Bulldogs continue action Saturday morning beginning at 10:00 am.
