
Chaudry Advances To Second Round Of Qualifiers At ITA All-Americans

TULSA, Okla. - Mississippi State's 73rd-ranked junior James Chaudry advanced to the second round of qualifiers at the ITA All-American Championships with a win on Monday.
During a first-round bout against Andre Stenger of Nebraska, Chaudry took down his Cornhusker opponent in two sets 6-4, 6-1. Also competing in the qualifiers for MSU was sophomore Zach White. After battling a tough opponent in Alberto Bautista of Texas A&M, White fell to his Aggie foe in three sets 6-2, 4-6, 6-0.
Chaudry will face Jarryd Botha in his second round Tuesday match-up. He needs two more wins in qualifying action to advance to this weekend's main draw in singles.
Also seeing action tomorrow is the Bulldog tandem of senior George Coupland and White. The two will face off against Hunter Nicholas and Javier Pulgar of San Diego State at 3:30 CT in qualifying action.
Waiting for action in the main draw beginning Thursday are three Bulldogs yet to compete - the 27th-ranked Coupland, 36th-ranked senior Louis Cant and freshman Malte Stropp, ranked 46th in the ITA preseason polls. The seventh-ranked State tandem of Cant and Stropp will also compete in the main draw of doubles action.
