Bulldog Linksters Endure Tough Opening Day At Gator Invite

True freshman Robi Calvesbert is the opening day leader for State, following his 5-over-par performance to put the Puerto Rico-native in a tie for 17th place among the individual field.
Making his debut in the Bulldog lineup for the 2009-10 season, sophomore Brad Thompson stands among the top 50 in the individual field following a team-best 73 in the first round and second round score of 77. Thompson was also MSU's leader in birdies made with five. Bulldog sophomore Lee Heaton trails Thompson by two strokes and tallied a 12-over-par two round score of 152.
Rounding out MSU's lineup is redshirt freshman John Darden and true freshman Brad Mason; both posted scores of 159 in the opening day of the event.
Host-school Florida holds a commanding lead among the field with its 2-over-par showing in the opening day.
