
Mississippi Natives Shine For State On Day Two At ITA Southern Regionals

After receiving a first round consolation bye, the Eupora, Miss., native Hall held off Kelley Tomlin of Jacksonville State 7-6(6), 7-6(3) in a hard-fought quarterfinal-round consolation match.
Zachary, a native of Brandon, Miss., pulled off two big victories in singles consolation of the B Draw. In the first round, Zachary defeated South Alabama's Bridgette Gale, 6-1, 6-0. Zachary then followed that with 6-2, 6-1 ousting of Hannah Appleyard of Louisiana-Lafayette in her quarterfinal round consolation match.
Hall and Zachary also teamed for a win in B Draw doubles consolation, winning their opening consolation match by blanking Jacksonville State's duo of Tomlin and Aleksandra Cmilijic, 8-0. Hall and Zachary were then defeated in the final round of consolation, 8-4, by UAB's duo of Menanteau Moolman and Pino.
Freshman Vivian Pietraroia of Mississippi State was unable to achieve victory in her first round consolation match in B Draw singles Saturday, as she fell to Hayley Everett of LSU in a tough three-setter 7-6, 2-6, 1-0(8).
In the Main Draw of consolation doubles, LSU's duo of Ebie Wilson and Ariel Mortin defeated Mississippi State's pair of Pietraroia and Ryzhova, 8-0.
Hall and Zachary will return to action Sunday morning in their consolation semifinal singles contests.
