True freshman Mike Genovese led the way for the Bulldogs, firing a one-under par 71 and stands in the top 25, being tied for 23rd after the first round. Two other linksters making their debut for the Maroon and White, Robi Calvesbert and Brad Mason, each shot even on the day with a 72 through one round of play and stand in a tie for 35th. Sophomore Brooks Bankhead and redshirt freshman John Darden posted scores of 75 and 76, respectively. Sophomore Lee Heaton is competing as an individual and shot even on the day and stands in a tie for 35th.
Due to a rain delay earlier in the day, second round action will resume tomorrow at 8 a.m. CT, followed with third round action concluding in the same day.
