
MState Men's Tennis Players Bid Ended At ITA All-American Championships

After defeating two ranked opponents to advance to the final round of qualifying, MSU's 109th-ranked George Coupland fell to 56th-ranked Lee Singer of Virginia in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.
Following his second-round upset bid over 57th-ranked Nick Mesiter of UCLA, State's Cant lost his first match of the fall season in a two-set bout to Kentucky's Eric Quigley who is No. 70 nationally, 6-3, 6-1.
"We won a lot of good matches and we're seeing good things on the court," said head coach Per Nilsson. "We're improving and the guys are excited about the next tournament."
The Bulldogs will return to the courts on Oct. 22 at the ITA Southern Regionals in New Orleans, La.
