Mayuk's Bid For Title Falls Short At ITA South Regional Championships

ATHENS, Ga. ? After what has been an outstanding performance in the ITA South Regional Championships, Mississippi State's freshman Natalia Mayuk fell just short Monday of claiming the title in the B Draw at the event.
After picking up four wins in this weekend's tournament, Mayuk set her sights on claiming the victory in her final match to claim the championship. Playing Southeastern Conference foe Shelley Godwin of Alabama, Mayuk fell short of that feat, falling in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
With the loss, Mayuk's record remains an impressive 9-4 on the fall campaign, giving the Lady Bulldog rookies an overall 13-8 mark this fall season.
The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action at the SEC Fall Coaches Classic Nov.6-9 to close out the fall campaign.
