Mississippi State Completes First Two Rounds At Scenic Invitational

Setting the pace for the Bulldogs was junior Logan Young, who shot rounds of 73 and 66, at the par-71 Council Fire Golf Club in
Junior Carlos Sainz, Jr. was consistent with rounds of 71 and 72 to sit 1-over going into the final round. Junior Josh Bevell, who is playing in his first Division I tournament, was 1-under par after round one, but after a 76 in round two, sits at 4-over par. Senior Josh Oller notched rounds of 73 and 74 to put him at 5-over. Freshman Bradley Thompson, who is also seeing his first action in Division I, had a first round 73, but faltered in the second round with a 10-over 81.
“We were consistent in scoring today, especially in the first round,” said head coach Clay Homan. “We had some guys struggle on the greens today and missed some putts, but I think we are sitting well in the standings. I know we can respond well to this and come out and put up a good score tomorrow.”
Tuesday's final round will begin at 7 a.m. CT.
