
Sainz, Jr. Leads MState On Final Day Of The SEC Men's Golf Championship

Sainz, Jr., a native of Elgin, Ill., recorded birdies on his opening nine holes and concluded the round by posting red figures on three of his last five holes to finish his round. He was State's top-finisher in 16th-place. With his finish, MSU has had at least one individual finish in the top-20 of the conference championship. Sophomore Noah Goldman scored a 2-over par 72 on Sunday to finish 23rd in the field. The Longwood, Fla.-product played steady the entire day with 13 pars on the day.
Tennessee claimed the 2007 conference title with a total of 869. Alabama and Auburn rounded out the top-three teams. AU's Patton Kizzire claimed medalist honors with a 1-over par tournament total.
MSU's final action of 2007 will be at the Linger Longer Invitational in Greensboro, Ga. on May 13-14.
