MSU's Joseph Notches Two Wins At SEC Fall Coaches' Classic

AUBURN, Ala. ? Mississippi State women's tennis player Ren?e Joseph notched a pair of wins Saturday at the SEC Fall Coaches' Classic. Elna de Villiers and Valeriya Makarycheva also posted singles wins for State.
Joseph, a senior from Rock Hill, S.C., faced Georgia's Yvette Hyndman and defeated her soundly 6-2, 6-3. After that victory, Joseph proceeded to play Alice Tunaru of Vanderbilt and overpowered her 6-1, 7-6(2). Also playing in the first round consolation, de Villiers fell to Lauren Meir of Kentucky 6-3, 6-4. However, de Villiers bounced back in her next match by defeating Paulina Bigos of Alabama 1-6, 7-6(5), 10-6.
In the main draw of the second flight Radka Ferancova dropped a hard fought match to Georgia's Naoko Ueshima 6-2, 6-2. In the consolation round of the same flight Daniela Juskova also fell to Whitney Chappell of Auburn 6-4, 7-5.
Posting a win in flight three's consolation round was Makarycheva. Makarycheva outlasted Jessica Giuggilo of Kentucky 0-6, 6-1, 10-8. Also in the consolation round of flight three, was Tatiana Feit who dropped a pair of tough matches to Anastaysiya Dubova of LSU and Lolita Frangulyan of Florida. All three MSU doubles team did not advance
