State's de Villiers Falls Short In Semis At ITA South Regional

De Villiers fell to Troy's Annabelle Bares in a 6-2, 6-4 loss, ending a great weekend of play, that saw her win four matches en route to the semifinal round.
Playing in B Draw consolation, fellow Lady Bulldog Tatiana Feit also went down Sunday. After winning the first set 6-2 against Central Florida's Zoe Kent, Feit lost the two sets thereafter 6-4, 6-2 in the semifinal round match.
In doubles action Sunday, State's tandem of Renee Joseph and Valeriya Makarycheva took to the courts in their semifinal match of the doubles B Draw, where they dropped an 8-5 decision versus Florida State's Miranda Foley and Carolin Walter.
The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action November 3-6 at the SEC Fall Classic in Athens, Ga. The classic will be the last action of the 2006 fall season for MSU.
