Christine Jackson currently serves as the Senior Associate AD, Student-Athlete Support Services and Executive Director of Athletic Academics. Prior to her promotion in July 2020, Jackson was named Mississippi State’s Assistant Athletic Director of Academics in August 2015 then promoted to the Associate Athletic Director/Executive Director for Athletic Academics in July 2018. Jackson was the first female and person of color to be hired to lead Athletic Academics at State. She oversees the Templeton Athletic Academic Center as well as manages the Athletic Academic Services and Student-Athlete Development departments. In her unique role, she reports to the Office of the Provost as well as MSU Athletics.
Prior to MSU, Jackson worked at Louisville and Kentucky. She had a variety of roles and provided academic support to a multitude of teams at both institutions. Jackson managed all financial and business matters of Louisville’s Olga S. Peers Academic Center. She also served as the Director of Tutoring and advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee while at Kentucky.
Jackson was the 2020 Lan Hewlett Award recipient and 2004 recipient of the Matt Schmauch Professional Promise Award both giving by the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A). In 2005, Jackson participated in the first N4A Professional Development Institute. In June 2006, she graduated from the Inaugural class of the NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Females. Jackson finished her term as N4A’s President in 2010. Currently, Jackson serves on the N4A’s Past President Council and the NCAA Division I Initial Eligibility Waivers Committee.
Jackson earned both her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and her master’s degree in sport management from Kentucky.
She has three sons - Trey, Reese, and Rashawn.
