Personal: Mydlo had a successful collegiate powerlifting career in the USA Powerlifting Federation, where he continues to compete and volunteer as a referee. Outside of his work with the athletic department, he contributes to on-campus research with the Athlete Engineering Institue and plays an active role in mentoring student researchers.
