Scouted to play for Newcastle United at age 12 while captaining Gateshead ... Played for the United U14 squad which won the President's Cup ... Moved to the U21 team at age 15, becoming the youngest player to be selected to the squad ... Advanced to the quarterfinals of the Umbro Cup with the U21 team ...
