Opened his outdoor season at the Alumni Bulldog Relays, competing in the throws and the 4x100m…Ran 14.06 in his first 100m hurdles race of the season…Competed in his first decathlon at the 44 Farms Team Invitational, earning 8,111 points for the win…He beat the field by over 500 points, earning a new meet record, collegiate lead, and world lead at the time…Named SEC Field Athlete of the Week after his performance at Texas A&M…Took home the national title in the decathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Championships…Set a new program record and the 14th highest point total in NCAA history at nationals with 8,323 points…Ran the collegiate record in the decathlon 100m and 400m at the national championships, at 10.25 and 46.00, respectively…Ran the fifth fastest 400m by any decathlete in world history…Seventh man in NCAA history to complete the heptathlon and decathlon sweep in one season

Opened his season with two personal bests in the pole vault, jumping 4.96m, and in the 60mh, running 7.84…Both performances from the season opener earned the No. 3 spot on the MSU top performances list…Competed in his first heptathlon at the Charlie Thomas Invite, earning a new personal best and program record of 6,104 pts…His performance in the heptathlon took the collegiate lead and was the fifth-highest performance in the world at the time…Helped the 4x400m squad to a 3:05.09 finish at the Tiger Paw Invitational, the second fastest in program history…Won his first national title at the NCAA Indoor Championship meet in the heptathlon with 6,013 points...Helped the men's team to the highest finish in program history, tying for sixth overall

Qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Austin, Texas in the decathlon…Earned All-America honors in the decathlon after finishing 11th with 7,653 points…Earned three top five finishes at the NCAA Championships … Finished 4th in the 400m (47.45), 5th in the high jump (1.98m / 6’ 6”) and 5th in the 100m (10.67)…Finished 3rd in the decathlon at the SEC Outdoor Championships with 7,903 points…His 7,903 points earned at the SEC Championship were the third-best total for an individual in program history…Earned his best decathlon finish of the season at the Texas Relays when he finished second with 7,819 points…He was the only freshman to finish inside the top 13 at the NCAA Championships and was one of only three freshmen to qualify for the championship…Bair’s 11th place finish was the best finish for a freshman at the NCAA Championships since 2019…He is one of just five freshmen since 2017 to finish inside the top 11 in the decathlon at the NCAA Championships…Bair’s 7,903 points at the SEC Championship were tied for the ninth most points by any athlete at the Division I level in 2023 … Bair was also the only freshman to crack the top 10 and the only freshman to have more than 7,700 points all season
