SENIOR (2010-11):
As one of two seniors on this year's Bulldog squad, will be leaned on heavily for leadership for the promising campaign.
FALL - Led MSU in singles victories with five...Began the fall season at the Southern Intercollegiate Championship where he picked up his first victory of the season with a three-set thriller... After being eliminated from the main draw in singles at the ITA Southern Regional Championships posted four-straight victories in the consolation bracket advancing to the finals.
SPRING - Earned a win at the No. 2 position in doubles helping MSU complete the sweep in doubles against UAB.
JUNIOR (2009-10):
Found positive role in MSU's doubles lineup and was one of the more vocal leaders for the Bulldogs last season.
FALL - Notched four victories in singles play and three in doubles action... Claimed back-to-back wins at the Seminole Invitational... Fell in the round of 32 at the ITA Southern Regional to 10th-ranked Saketh Myneni of Alabama... Reached the round of 16 in doubles at the ITA Southern Regional with teammate Max Gregor Smith, before falling to Auburn's 21st-ranked tandem of Tim Puetz and Alex Stamchev.
SPRING - Primarily played in doubles action, but found sound role alongside teammate Daniel Sanchez... The tandem earned two conference victories and were the clinching point in doubles against Auburn... Were a perfect 2-0 in dual matches at home... Was selected to the SEC Community Service team for 2010.
SOPHOMORE (2008-09):
Avoiding last years late starts, the Bradenton, Fla. native established himself as a regular competitor in the Bulldog lineup.
FALL - Competing in his first fall action for the Maroon and White, posted a 2-3 mark, with both wins coming against Southeast Regional competition... Achieved a .700 winning percentage in doubles action, going 7-3... Teamed up with junior Chris Doerr, reached the finals in the Division II Draw at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships and a semifinal showing in the White Draw at the Crimson Tide Fall Invitational.
SPRING - Put together three victories in dual match play, including two straight wins to open the home schedule for the Bulldogs... Earned an SEC victory over Tyler Tarnasky of Arkansas to help give the Bulldogs the SEC road win.
FRESHMAN (2007-08):
Arrived at the beginning of the spring semester.
SPRING - Upon late arrival to MSU, posted a .500 mark of 3-3 in singles play, with all three victories coming in a row... Was 2-2 in dual match play, playing three of his four matches in the #6 hole, with the other one coming at the #5 spot... Was unable to pick up an SEC victory in two attempts, but did earn one victory in the SEC Indoor Championships in New Orleans, La... Was 7-9 in doubles competition for the Maroon and White, but in joining up with teammate Chris Doerr, was able to go 6-5 in dual match play at the #3 position, with a 4-5 SEC record which includes three straight wins over Tennessee, Auburn and South Carolina.
PRE-MSU:
Was top 20 in the 18's division in Florida coming out of high school...Also ranked in the Top 100 U.S. juniors in 2007.
PERSONAL:
Tanner Stump was born May 12, 1989, in Corpus Christi, Texas...The son of Dana and Belinda Stump...Likes the professional talents of Ivan Llubicic and Roger Federer...Enjoys playing other sports, listening to music and hanging out with friends...Majoring in business administration at MSU.
