Men's Tennis

- Title:
- Volunteer Assistant Coach
After four years on the courts in the Maroon and White, former Mississippi State tennis player James Chaudry has moved to the coaching staff, as he was announced as the volunteer asisstant coach for the Bulldogs for the 2013-14 season by coach Per Nilsson.
"James has been crucial to this program's constant improvement with his contributions on the court the past four year," Nilsson said. "When you have a chance to keep a player such as him within the program on the coaching staff, you got to do it. He is going to be a vital part to our 2013-14 campaign."
Chaudry joined the MSU men's tennis program in Nilsson's second year at the helm. Over the years, Chaudry has been key in the Bulldogs capturing back-to-back SEC Western Division crowns and making the NCAA Championship three-straight seasons, culminating in the program's 2013 run to the NCAA Round of 16, the first such trip for the MSU program since 2001.
The three-year letterwinner amassed 49 total victories for his career, with 32 of those wins coming in dual match play and has been a part of a Bulldogs squad that was ranked as high as 9th in the ITA National Rankings in 2012.
An Academic All-SEC and ITA Scholar Athlete, Chaudry has been ranked as high as 41st in the ITA National Singles Rankings, while earning a career-high doubles ranking of No. 42 with 2013 teammate Stefan Vinti.
"It's a great opportunity for myself to continue working with Per (Nilsson) and Matt (Roberts) and the rest of this team," Chaudry said. "I greatly look forward to what we can do with this 2014 team and beyond."
Chaudry, a native of Southampton, England, graduated from Mississippi State in 2013.
