Played in the third-most tournaments of any Bulldog in the
2009-10 campaign as a true freshman, competing in 10 of MSU's 12 tournaments on
the season, totaling 28 rounds on the year with an 18-hole stroke average of
74.8 ... Was State's leader in third round stroke average, with 72.4 strokes
per third round ... Finished the spring season on a strong note by setting five
career-best numbers at the 2010 SEC Championship, including best career finish
(tied for eighth), career-low round (67), career-low first and third rounds (71
& 67) and best event in terms of total strokes (209) ... Was MState's top
finisher twice as a true freshman.
Prior to MSU:
Competed in the 2010 Southwestern Amateur where he posted
rounds of 69-71-68-71 and tied for eighth among 140 participants ... At the
2010 Memorial Amateur he finished in a tie for seventh among 125 competitors
with rounds of 75-68-69 ... Attempted to qualify for PGA Tour event at the HP
Byron Nelson Championship where he shot a 72 to qualify for the qualifier and
then shot a 68 in the qualifier round, merely missing the event by three
strokes ... Placed 2nd in AJGA at the Randy Smith Classic in Lubbock, Tex.
firing a low round of 67... Made the cut at the Southern Amateur in Memphis,
Tenn. finishing with a 295 after four rounds ... Placed in top 5 every
tournament his senior season... Made the all district, region and state teams
his junior year at Lake Highlands High in Dallas, Texas.
