No. 17 ranked JUCO player in America and the No. 1 linebacker in the class of 2025 according to 247Sports … On3 composite rankings have James ranked as a 3-star recruit and the No. 1 linebacker in the class of 2025 … In two seasons at Co-Lin, James played in 21 games totaling 45 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 18.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles with four fumble recoveries and four pass breakups … 41 of his tackles came in 2024 … In 2023, James helped Co-Lin to a 10-2 overall record, just the second 10-win season in program history.

LaKendrick James prepped at Northside High School under the direction of head coach Montrelli Finely … During his senior season in 2023, James recorded 125 tackles, seven tackles for loss, five sacks, one interception and one forced fumble … He caught four touchdown passes and helped convert a pair of 2-point conversions … He was a four-sport athlete in high school playing basketball, baseball and track & field … Advanced to the MHSAA Class 2A State Championships and finished in sixth place on the 4x1 relay team (Leg 2), seventh place on the 4x2 relay team (Leg 2), and second place in the high Jump (6-0 PR) as a senior in 2023 ...
