Bulldogs Set To Begin Play At BancorpSouth Intercollegiate

MADISON, Miss. – For the fourth-straight year the Mississippi State men’s golf team will tee off in the BancorpSouth Intercollegiate at the par-72, 7,305-yard Reunion Golf and Country Club in Madison, Miss.
The Bulldogs will tee up against 14 other schools including in-state foes host Ole Miss and Southern Miss along with Central Arkansas, Central Florida, Jackson State, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, UNC-Greensboro, Rice, South Alabama, Southeastern Louisiana, UAB, and Vanderbilt.
The Maroon and White is led by true freshman Chad Ramey who is making his ninth tournament appearance of the season. Ramey leads MSU in overall scoring (72.8). He has been MSU’s top finisher three times on the year and has tallied top-5 and top-10 finishes thus far.
Also teeing up for the Bulldogs will be sophomores John Darden and Brad Mason. Darden is making his fourth tournament appearance of the year with a 227.3 tournament average, while Mason owns MSU’s second-best scoring average (73.4).
Junior Alex Rowland is making his fifth tournament appearance and looks to improve on his best 18-hole score of 71, while redshirt freshman Barrett Edens is registering his first tournament of the season.
"We have prepared well for this tournament and have no reason not to play well," MSU coach Clay Homan said. "The conditions should be very windy so it's important that we control our ball flight and putt well."
The Bulldogs will play two rounds starting at 9:00 a.m. CT Monday followed by 18 holes on Tuesday. Live stats will be available through www.mstateathletics.com.
