Bulldogs Tee Off In 32nd Annual Schenkel Invitational This Weekend

The Bulldogs are making their first appearance at the Schenkel Invitational since 1989. MSU will tee off against 14 other schools including No. 4 ranked Florida, No. 15 Auburn, host-school Georgia Southern, SEC-foe Kentucky, 11th-ranked LSU, in-state rival Ole Miss, top 50 North Carolina State, North Carolina, No. 22 North Florida, top 50 Tennessee, SEC-opponent Vanderbilt and 12th-ranked Virginia. State has faced 10 of the 14 opponents this season and has finished higher than four of them at least once.
MSU is coming off its best showing of the spring season at the Seminole Intercollegiate where the Maroon and White were led by freshman Axel Boasson who posted a career tournament. Joining Boasson in this weekend's lineup will be fellow freshman Chad Ramey, who leads State in overall and second-round scoring average. Bulldog sophomore Robi Calvesbert is making his seventh tournament appearance for MSU this season while Lee Heaton is playing in his eighth-straight tournament for the Maroon and White. John Darden rounds out the Bulldog lineup while playing in his third tournament of the year.
State will tee off at 8:45 a.m. CT on Saturday and live stats will be available at www.mstateathletics.com. All three rounds of the Schenkel Invitational are open to the public and admission is free.
