Cross Country Set To Open In Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. โ Mississippi State's cross country team opens the 2026 season on Friday morning in Huntsville, Alabama at the Southern Showcase.
The Bulldogs return to Huntsville after a second-place finish last season at the meet hosted by Jacksonville State. MSU is sending 10 women to the course and willย start at 8:10 a.m. CT.
Three of State's women will make their collegiate debut. Freshman Larkin Johnson and Lilly Overby along with international transfer Berit Janowitz make up three of the four newcomers in the lineup.
Naomi Jepleting clocked in at 16:46.78 on the same course last year, recording the second-fastest women's 5k time in MSU history. Jepleting is State's top runner going into the season after finishing inside the top 20 at last year's South Region Championships and making the All-Region team.
Brooklyn Quanz, Kaitlyn Burge, Sophie Santucci make their return to the Southern Showcase where they all recorded their personal bests.ย Milicent Kembio Gabrielle Boulay andย Mallory Streetman round out State's runners.ย
