Six Bulldogs Selected ABCA All-Region

STARKVILLE – Six members of Mississippi State's were selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) South All-Region teams on Tuesday.
Third baseman Ace Reese, outfielder Jacob Parker, designated hitter Noah Sullivan and pitcher Tomas Valincius were each tabbed to the first team while first baseman Reed Stallman and second baseman Gehrig Frei were named to the second team.
It is the second consecutive season that Reese and Sullivan were picked ABCA All-South Region. Since 1949, a total of 79 Bulldogs have been selected ABCA All-Region a total of 99 times.
Reese became the third player in program history to hit 20-plus home runs in back-to-back seasons, joining Will Clark and Rafael Palmeiro. The junior from Canton, Texas was the only player on the team to start all 62 games this spring batting .336 with 23 doubles, 24 homers and 74 RBIs. He currently leads the Southeastern Conference in doubles with that total also tied for the eighth-most in a single season in MSU history. His home run total in 2026 ranks fourth all-time in the school's annals and his 45 career homers in Maroon and White matches Tommy Raffo (1987-90) for ninth all-time at State.
Parker clubbed a freshman record 18 home runs this year to go along with a .339 batting average and 62 RBIs. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder from Purvis appeared in 53 games and made 44 starts this spring. Parker finished second on the Diamond Dawgs in homers and RBIs as well as third in batting average and stolen bases (seven). He also added 10 doubles and one triple to his totals.
Sullivan started 54 games as a designated hitter and three more at first base during 2026. The graduate from Orlando, Florida finished second on the team with a .342 batting average to go along with 75 hits, 14 doubles, 13 homers, 46 RBIs and a team-best .451 on-base percentage. He also was second on the team with 10 steals in 12 attempts. His .463 on-base percentage during his two seasons in Starkville ranks third-best in school history among players with 300-plus at bats.
In 16 starts, Valincius posted an 11-2 record on the mound with a 3.50 earned run average. The sophomore left-hander struck out 134 and only walked 20 across 97 2/3 innings this year. His strikeouts were the eight-highest in a single season in school history while his win total tied for 10th. Opposing hitters batted just .230 against him and his 86 strikeouts during conference play led the SEC.
Stallman played in 57 games and made 43 starts in 2026 – 41 at first base, one in left field and one as a DH. The graduate from Robins, Iowa hit .318 with a dozen doubles, one triple, 13 long balls and drove in 55 runs while also finishing 3-of-4 in the stolen base department. He also excelled in the field, where he sported a .994 fielding percentage.
Frei finished up his final collegiate season batting .325 with 76 hits, 12 doubles, two triples, 12 homers, 47 RBIs and six steals. The switch hitter from Alpharetta, Georgia appeared in 59 games and drew 52 starts, 49 at second base and three more at DH.
