Kid Coach - Kaisley Radcliffe
April 26, 2026 | Baseball
Kid Coach is a partnership between Children's of Mississippi and the Mississippi State Bulldogs to salute pediatric patients. Their inspirational stories remind us just how truly courageous these young people are.
This week's Children's of Mississippi Kid Coach is Kaisley Radcliffe of Brandon.
Kaisley was flown to Children's of Mississippi when she was only 3 days old, after being born extremely prematurely at only 25 weeks. She stayed in the NICU for 8 months where she received advanced, life-saving care that involved multiple surgeries and daily tests of all kinds.
Kaisley spent her first Christmas in the NICU. Her mother remembers decorating her incubator with a small artificial tree, while the caring staff made everything feel as Christmas-y and homelike as possible.
Now 5 years old, Kaisley is doing great! She has several conditions her care team at Children's of Mississippi helps her manage, including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, short bowel syndrome and visual impairment. She has routine checkups with a lot of pediatric specialists, including gastroenterologists, neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, complex care and palliative care teams. And, thanks to pediatric physical therapy, she can walk with her walker.
Kaisley is a very happy child who is always smiling. She loves it when people talk to her. Her favorite things include reading, especially rhyming books, listening to music and dancing with her mother. She also loves the outdoors and going for walks.
Have fun at Saturday's game, Kaisley. Your friends at Children's of Mississippi are cheering for you!
