Program Record Falls In Alabama
April 10, 2026 | Track & Field
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Mississippi State track and field concluded the Crimson Tide Invitational, hosted by Alabama, on Friday evening.
"This weekend was a great opportunity for extra development before competing in a high-profile meet next weekend," said head coach Chris Woods. "I was happy to see one of our veteran runners, Tamiia Fuller, battle back from injury. Thomas Matlock reaching top five all-time as a freshman in the shot put gives us great confidence moving forward."
The one-day meet saw action from a small group of Bulldogs, with competition beginning and ending with the field events.
Juha Narhi earned a new personal best and extended his program record in the hammer, throwing 65.20m. His mark puts him in the top ten in the conference in the event.
Tamiia Fuller earned a pair of personal bests in the 100m and 200m, in her first individual races of the season.
The day closed in the shot put, with Roury McCloyen taking the event win in his first shot put competition of the outdoor season. Thomas Matlock threw a personal best of 17.62m, the fifth farthest mark in program history.
The Bulldogs will continue the outdoor season next weekend, split between the Wake Forest and Tom Jones Invitational meets.
