Valincius Tabbed To Baseball America National Team Of The Week
March 24, 2026 | Baseball
STARKVILLE – Tomas Valincius tossed seven shutout innings with seven strikeouts and only allowed two hits to Arkansas in his SEC debut and was named the conference's Co-Pitcher of the Week two weeks ago.
The Mississippi State sophomore topped that performance in his second SEC start, striking out a career-high 14 batters across seven innings and picked up another victory over Vanderbilt. That outing earned Valincius a spot on Baseball America's Week 6 National Team of the Week.
Against the Commodores, Valincius once again surrendered just two hits, only walked one and did not allow an earned run.
In six starts this season, he 6-foot-2, 220-pound left-hander from Lockport, Illinois is a perfect 5-0 and tied for fourth in the league with a 1.04 earned run average. Valincius also ranks third in the SEC with 34 2/3 innings pitched and seventh in strikeouts with 47. Opposing hitters are batting just .174 against him.
