Day One Done In Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – Mississippi State track and field concluded the first day of competition at the Bob Pollock Invitational, hosted by Clemson.
The Bulldogs saw action across 14 events on day one, with 10 athletes earning personal bests.
Four Bulldogs advanced to the 60m hurdles semifinals, and three to the 60m semifinals after solid performances in the preliminary round. Nicholas Fakorede advanced to the 60m final, where he ran 6.67 to finish second overall. Khalil Antoine earned a personal best in the 60m hurdles, and Kyndall Sessom ran a season's best in the 60m.
De'Kayla Simpson etched her name into the program record book in the 400m, crossing the line in 54.44. Her time is a personal best and the fourth fastest time in program history. She finished 10th overall in the field.
The day closed in the women's distance medley relay, where the team finished second overall in 11:27.00. This time placed the team at fourth in the conference as of the end of competition on day one.
Competition will resume tomorrow morning in the men's shot put. The meet is available to stream on ACCNX, with live results available on Flash Results.
