#STATEtoSundays: Wild Card Update
January 13, 2026 | Football
Eight former Mississippi State standouts remain alive in the NFL Playoffs following Wild Card Weekend.
Emmanuel Forbes had a solid outing in the Los Angeles Rams' 34-31 road win at Carolina. Forbes finished tied for third on the team with six tackles and earned the third-highest tackle grade (79.5) in the league among cornerbacks.
PFF also rated Forbes with the No. 3 grade in run defense (71.7) and coverage (70.6) on the Rams this past weekend.
Houston has the most former Bulldogs on its roster and advanced to the AFC Divisional Round following a 30-6 victory at Pittsburgh. Defensive end Denico Autry acquired a half-sack for the Texans while rookie running back Jo'Quavious "Woody" Marks ran for a career-high 112 yards and a touchdown on 19 attempts.
It was the first time in Marks' short career that he was eclipsed the century mark on the ground. Pro Football Focus (PFF) gave him the highest running grade of any tailback in the NFL during Wild Card Weekend at 79.2.
Defensive end Montez Sweat provided three assisted tackles, three quarterback hurries and a pass defense to aid Chicago's efforts in a 31-27 comeback win against Green Bay. The former first round pick and Pro Bowler earned the third-best pressure grade on the Bears' defense during that contest.
Logan Cooke averaged 50 yards on a pair of punts during Jacksonville's 27-24 home loss to Buffalo. Cooke connected on a 58-yarder that he pinned at the Bills 6-yard line on the opening drive of the game.
Seattle starting left tackle Charles Cross and the rest of the Seahawks enjoyed a first-round bye and will meet the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round this week.
