Julie Darty Dennis Picks Up 150th Career Win

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Mississippi State volleyball head coach Julie Darty Dennis earned her 150th career win with a sweep over Middle Tennessee.
In her eighth season at the helm of State volleyball, Darty Dennis has tallied 92 wins as head coach. Prior to her time at State, she earned 58 wins as the head coach at Jacksonville. State continues its winning streak with a three-set victory over MTSU, with the Bulldogs yet to have dropped a set this season.
State battled through three sets with MTSU, totaling a .545 hitting percentage to MTSU's -.036. Lindsey Mangelson led the squad in kills for the fifth time this season with a new career high of 20 kills on 30 attempts, ending with a massive .633 hitting percentage.
Cayley Hanson put up 37 assists, four kills and two service aces this match. Noella Obi and Gha'Naye Whitfield-Moss tied for most total blocks, both earning four to contribute to the team's eight total.
McKenna Yates picked up 14 digs this match, followed by Mangelson and Mary Neal, both of whom earned eight each.
Mangelson also led the squad in service aces, earning a new career best of four, adding to the team's total of nine. Â
After battling out the first set to win 25-23, State held MTSU to 18 in the second set and 13 in the third to take the sweep.
The Bulldogs will conclude the Blue Raider Bash tomorrow morning, taking on Marist at 11 a.m. CT in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
